Basic Computer Skills
Thursdays at 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Cost: $40 for the series
This course will cover the most common uses of a computer. Participants will learn to identify the hardware components of your computer and how operating systems (Windows, Apple, Lennox) and related programs interface with them. Throughout the series, participants learn how to start working with computers and build confidence in their ability to use them for practical-everyday applications. Some examples are, formatting letters and corresponding envelope addresses, making spreadsheets for budgets and creative skills for brochures, pamphlets and flyers.
The program will be taught in a classroom setting over a period of 8 weeks for “Basics 1.” Each class will be 1 hour and 30 minutes on site at L&A Seniors Outreach Services, in the “Activities Room.”

We are very pleased to announce, we have expanded the capabilities of our Family History group. We have access to Ancestry databases consisting of 16+ billion records in their global collection including parish and church, passage lists, immigration, photos, maps and much more. Individuals are shown how to start their tree, where to research and how to set it up on their own laptop. Ongoing assistance is provided on a weekly basis. So, if you are curious about your own family history, please come in and explore the largest online family history resource available.
