Strength & Core fitness course
Strength & Core

Strength & Core

8:45 – 9:45 am
Monday and Wednesdays Gym
Friday – outside, weather allowing. Please bring own mat. No weights will be used.
Leader: Kimberley Sledz

A dynamic full body strength training class with a focus on strengthening the core. Strength training involves the performance of exercises designed to improve strength and endurance; often associated with lifting weights which helps build muscle mass and strength.

The core is a group of muscles that stabilize and control the pelvis and spine. A strong core can improve posture, balance, coordination, and stability.

Muscle loss, a consequence of aging, has negative consequence on bone health. Strength training tones and tightens our bodies by building lean muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism works.

Health Benefits of Strength Training;

Improve muscle strength and tone which helps protect your joints from injury.
Maintain flexibility and balance which can help you remain independent as you age.
Weight management – as you gain muscle, your body burns more calories at rest.
Exercise boosts mood through endorphin release.
